2017 Aus-PNG Emerging Leaders Dialogue – 12-15 December – Apply!

There are many opportunities for those under the age of 40 I see online.  I only have a couple of years to go, before I am out of the ‘qualifying’ range – especially for funded workshops, trainings for youth and ’emerging’ people!

Aus-PNG Network have yet again, another Emerging Leaders Dialogue taking place in December looking for nominations for young leaders to attend.

The Aus-PNG Emerging Leaders Dialogue brings together ten Papua New Guinean and ten Australian young people who are leaders in their fields, for two days of networking and discussion of priority issues for each country and the bilateral relationship.

The 2017 Dialogue will be held between 12 and 15 December in Papua New Guinea, alongside the PNG IMPACT conference coordinated by the University of Papua New Guinea and James Cook University. Participants will have the opportunity to attend the first day of the PNG IMPACT conference on 12 December before taking part in the Dialogue over 13 and 14 December.

Dialogue discussion will focus on research, innovation, new technologies and the importance of cross-disciplinary conversations to tackle societies’ big problems. This is the fifth year of the event and the first time that it will be hosted in PNG. As in past years, it will include professional networking opportunities with high profile corporate, government and civil society organisations, and a public reception.

We are inviting applications from and nominations for people aged under 40 years who are recognised by their organisations as showing drive and initiative and are making a contribution to their communities.

Young professionals from any sector are encouraged to apply. For Australian applicants, no previous personal or professional experience in PNG is required. Participants will be selected based on their expertise and experience.
